Machinist
Tazewell, VA

The machinist will be responsible for following technical drawings and using knowledge of mathematics to produce precision parts. To be successful as a machinist you must have excellent coordination and knowledge of mechanics. A good machinist puts safety and accuracy at the forefront of all tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Produce precision mining machine parts

• Interpret technical drawings and instructions

• Ensure that all operations adhere to safety protocols

• Check that all equipment produced works correctly

• Operating and maintaining industrial machines, such as lathes, drills, and mills

• Producing precision tools, parts, and equipment from metal or other materials

• Interpreting technical drawings, instructions, and blueprints

• Planning and executing the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job

• Aligning, securing, and adjusting cutting tools and workpieces

• Monitoring the feed and speed of machines and inspecting the quality of output

• Complying with safety rules and regulations during course of duties

• Ability to lift 50.lbs.

• Any other job assigned by Supervisor
   

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Proven experience as machinist

• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)

• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements

• Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals

• Good at math with analytical abilities
   

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

• Day shift

• Evening shift
